Marzé Botha was born in Cape Town in 1978.  Eldest of three daughters to Eddie and Rina Goldberg, she grew up in an artistic home.  Having musicians for parents and her father also being in the radio business, her passion for the arts started from birth. Growing up in Bloemfontein in the Free State, she spent her days on stage, in front of microphones, performing, singing, dancing.  Adding to her list of activities were the Bloemfontein Children's Choir; The FreeState Youth Choir, then studying classical voice training under Hanna van Niekerk at the University of the Free State as part of her BA Communications Science degree.  In 2002 she completed her Honours Degree in Integrated Marketing from the University of the Free State.  Marzé moved back to Cape Town in 2002 and entered into a corporate career.  After her first daughter was born, she decided her focus needed to be on her home as a mom and wife.  Soon after she started looking for an opportunity to live out a dormant passion...art.  In 2009 the Marzé Botha Art Gallery was established.  At first the gallery was situated on the beautiful Lourensford Wine Estate in Somerset West. A new phase of the gallery started when it moved to the middle of the quaint town of Stellenbosch in 2013.  In 2015 Marzé started with formal art training with Wilma du Toit and recently with artist and lecturer, Vivian van der Merwe as well as artist and teacher, Marié Stander. She works in all mediums, but her first love is oils.
